COVID-19 - Recommendations for Community Partners

We understand that changes to the university’s instructional delivery method impact you, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Community partners are encouraged to consider ways to continue to engage with our students virtually:

  • Continue to reach out to the CEL team ( with project ideas with an emphasis on virtual or online opportunities, or services that can be completed remotely.
  • Virtual service opportunities include ways that volunteers can support your organization from home or online, such as:
    • Creating deliverables defined by you and your organization, such as:
      • Research, assessment, or evaluation of a program offered by your organization
      • Creating information sharing products such as digital media, social media content, and/or print materials
      • Creating virtual educational materials such as webinars or streaming a presentation or performance
      • Other deliverables may include: policy briefs, literature reviews, position/response papers, grant writing, data analysis, annotated bibliographies, campaign outreach materials, films, etc.
    • Offering services via video conferencing platforms (e.g., community member interviews, fundraising, mentorship and tutoring)
  • Exploring virtual service opportunities or posting your organization’s opportunities through Pillar Nonprofit Network volunteer board

If you would like to discuss how we could approach CEL projects/placements specific to your organization, please feel free to contact us.
