Expectations

  • ALL program fees are considered NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • ALL program participants are expected to complete pre-departure orientation.

Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation

Pre-Departure orientation is designed to prepare participants for their Impact experience. Participants will enjoy various presentations, strengthen facilitation skills, learn about critical thinking and intercultural competence, and dialogue with their peers about their hopes and fears regarding their experience. These workshops are a great way to get to know your teammates, ask questions about your experience, and begin to learn about the culture and community in which you are about to be immersed.

This year you there will be one Sunday session for Fall participants, one Sunday Session for Spring participants and one Sunday session for Summer participants. In addition to this full day Sunday session you will be expected to attend one additional session based on your interest and class schedules.  

Failure to complete this training may result in being removed from the program and/or no verification of the Co-Curricular Record

Program Fees

Program Fees due - Friday October 25

The procedure follows the same steps as paying tuition. All students are required to submit their final payment to ensure their space in the program is reserved and officially accept their offer. If payment is not received by the deadline the student forfeits their space.

Payment will be accepted in the following ways:

  • Cheque, made payable to Western University and dropped off at Student Central, 1120 WSSB
  • Cheque, made payable to Western University and mailed to Student Financial Services, 1140 WSSB, Western University, London, ON N5A 3K7
  • Internet banking - information on payment to Main Campus via internet banking can be found here.

For students studying at affiliated colleges, to ensure your space you must make your payment to Main Campus.

All Impact Experience program fees are considered non-refundable because the program must submit non-refundable payments for transportation, insurance, and the program fees to our community partners. For more information on Program Fees please visit Financial Information.

Orientation is designed to prepare participants for their Impact Experience. Participants will enjoy various presentations, strengthen facilitation skills, learn about critical thinking and intercultural competence, and dialogue with their peers about their hopes and fears regarding their experience. These workshops are a great way to get to know your teammates, ask questions about your experience, and begin to learn about the culture and community in which you are about to be immersed.

Impact Experience Showcase

Tuesday November 12 from 10:00am – 3:00pm in UCC Atrium

This is your chance to share your experience with the wider Western Community. Your team will be asked to set up a display and take turns staffing the display.
