Co-Curricular Experiential Learning

Looking to build valuable skills and gain experience beyond the classroom?

Our Co-Curricular Community Engaged Learning Opportunities

Charity Sophs

Sophs are Western's orientation leaders who help welcome new students to campus. Charity Sophs volunteer their time as leaders, community role models, and mentors to help students connect with campus resources. The Sophing experience is unlike any other!

Orientation Serves

Orientation Serves (OServes) is an afternoon program facilitated by Charity Sophs during Orientation Week. Join fellow students in your faculty and volunteer with a local organization here in the London community!

Local Impact Experience

Impact Experience offers all students at Western and affiliated colleges access to unique co-curricular opportunities to support community projects during Western's Reading Weeks. Impact Experience is more than just a one-week experience--it is a program with leadership elements and workshops, combined with service and reflection.

Western Serves Network

The Western Serves Network helps connect local non-profit organizations with dedicated and talented students to support community initiatives. The goal of the Western Serves Network is for students to contribute positively to and develop meaningful connections with the larger London community. Western Serves Network volunteer experiences can range from one-hour, one-time projects to ongoing volunteer opportunities.
